VIRTUAL FMWAS CHAPTER MEETING
Thursday, March 24, 2022, 7:00 p.m. CDT

FEATURED LIVE ZOOM PROGRAM:
MYSTERIES OF MIGRATION”
Lucy and Bob Duncan will explain some of the mysteries of migration here in the Southeast and on the northern Gulf Coast. Using stunning photographs of Spring migrants they will sketch the formidable tale of northbound birds and the events that bring them to us.

Bob and Lucy Duncan have shared adventures in birding for over 53 years. Traveling throughout the United States with two boys in a station wagon loaded with camping gear they birded the corners of the country and many places in between.

Their passion for studying birds has led to published articles in The Auk, North American Birds, Florida Field Naturalist, Alabama Birdlife, and North American Bander. They are regional contributors or editors for several journals and maintain the area bird records for Northwest Florida. Their work has produced four books, the most recent being Birds of Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa Counties Florida with Bird Migration, Weather, and Fallout (2018).

Lucy and Bob were founding members of the Francis M. Weston Audubon Society, and have served the Chapter in several capacities since its beginning.  Lucy currently serves as the Chapter field trip chair. Bob writes field notes for the Skimmer newsletter.
