Ms. Kristal Walsh of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will present a program entitled “Conservation of Biodiversity in Northwest Florida – Development Considerations”
Ms. Walsh holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Environmental Science from the University of West Florida. Most of her studies focused on GIS analysis and modeling of environmental data at the landscape scale.
Kristal’s professional experience includes over 15 years in natural resource management for military and private lands.
For the last 3 years, she has worked as a Biological Scientist with Florida Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Habitat and Species, Conservation Planning Services, where she provides technical assistance to government agencies and private landowners about reducing potential effects to wildlife and habitats during development.
She is the GIS lead for the FWC conservation planning section and serves as an Advisory Board member for UWF’s Master’s in GIS Administration.
The meeting will be in be room 2142 of the Baroco Science Center (Bldg. 21) on the main campus of Pensacola State College (1000 College Blvd., Pensacola).
The meeting room is located across the breezeway from the planetarium.
