Field Trip -Ft. Pickens
October 14 @ 7:30 am - 12:00 pm
Saturday, October 14, Ft. Pickens.
Meet at 7:30 a.m. in the large parking lot across from West Beach at the entrance to Ft. Pickens.
This is just west of the pink Palm Beach Club Condos at 1390 Ft. Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach. Daniel Stangeland will lead this trip to one of the prime migrant birding sites on the northern Gulf Coast. His enthusiasm is contagious!
Bring water, insect repellant, sun hat, picnic lunch or snacks (optional).
We will finish by noon. Bring your National Parks pass if you have one, otherwise there is an entrance fee per car of $15.
Field trips are open to the public and free of charge, but contributions are appreciated. All experience levels are welcome.
Bring binoculars and/or a spotting scope. Sunscreen, insect protection, appropriate shoes, hat, water, and snacks or lunch are recommended on all trips.
Please refrain from wearing scented cologne, perfumes or aftershave on field trips. It distracts from the experience in nature, and some participants are highly sensitive to it. Carpooling is encouraged.
