Ms. Kate Pearson will present a program on Open burning/open demolition of munitions on Military bases.

Kate is a native of Gulf Breeze and is an environmental activist. She has been involved in Gulf Coast Environmental Defense, Santa Rosa Sound Coalition and Citizens Against Toxic Exposure.

She is a member of the Pensacola Bay area League of Women Voters and serves on their Natural Resources Committee.

Currently, many bases near Pensacola and across the country accept unexploded weapons and munitions to be detonated and openly burned.

This presentation tackles that subject as it relates to human health and environmental concerns.

Our monthly chapter program meetings are held at 7:00 p.m., room 2142, the Baroco Science Center (Bldg. 21 ), Pensacola State College, 21 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504 unless otherwise noted.

The meeting room is located across the breezeway from the planetarium.
